PARKES LIONS PARK

Public BBQ

Parkes Lions Park sits on the Orange Road on the south side of Parkes, offering a well-equipped stop for families and travellers. The playground features a comprehensive range of equipment including climbing structures, swings, slides, and spinners, all shaded by large mature trees. Two undercover BBQ areas provide free gas barbecues with picnic tables, making it easy to settle in for a meal. Modern toilets with disabled access service the park, and outdoor exercise equipment caters to adults while kids play. The playground suits younger children particularly well, with plenty of shade and varied play options. Popular with homeschool groups and families, the park provides generous open space for running around. One notable safety concern: the park lacks fencing, and children can access the adjacent car park and highway if unsupervised. Despite this, the combination of facilities, shade, and cleanliness makes it a solid roadside stop.
